A body of eminent physicians, diabetologists, and cardiologists got together to create ABCD,
an ambitious and resourceful academic body in Burdwan, about ten years back. It announced
its birth with a hugely successful
medical workshop involving some of the best known cardiologists
and diabetologists of South Bengal.
Most of the physicians in and around Burdwan , were quickly brought under its umbrella,and regular monthly seminars involving both local and national level speakers got underway.
The organisation has gone from strength to strength over the last decade , with innumerable seminars,
workshops,
and round-table-meetings … crowned by the annual conference ABCDcon. The conference
came to be known
as the best and biggest academic extravaganza by an organisation outside Kolkata,
in the semi urban facilities,
in West Bengal.
